One thing we did do was to work with Mr. Antanas Tamosaitis who designed a tapestry, which we then wove and presented to the city in 1973 commemorating Kingston's Tercentenary. Prior to 1973, the city had bought a 100 inch loom for the Guild, but the Guild had no real home. And it sort of sat upstairs collecting dust in City Hall. It was in 1976 that the Tett Centre was opened up. We were given a studio on the second floor and a home for our large 100 inch loom. Plus, we had a number of smaller looms and spinning wheels and a room full of storage for supplies and fibers. And I was active through all that but not in any official capacity. We just did what had to be done. There were a couple of other things in 1976. There was a sailing Olympics in Kingston, and our guild participated at St. Lawrence College as part of that festivities. And we started having an annual show and sale at the Tet in 1978. And continue to have it to this day, every fall.
